News From the Road

5/22/13 - I did really well at the U.S. Spring Selection match in Georgia this past week. I shot some of my best scores and I am currently ranked 11th in the Nation! Things are looking good!! :) This weekend I will help coach juniors from all over the country at the Junior Olympic Development Camp at KSP. Thanks again for all of your support! I hope to see you at my fundraiser June 1st at the VFW in Mexico! :)

5/14/13 - Saturday I graduated from Paul Smith's College with a Bachelors of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Management with a concentration in Wildlife and a Minor in GIS. 
I can't wait to start my new life and be 100% focuses on my training now that school is over! I will dearly miss all my friends from PSC! ;( ♥
I am now driving down to Fort Benning, Georgia to compete in the 2013 USA Shotgun Spring Selection Match for the Woman's International Trap shooting event this week. :)

4/21/13 - I received the Women's Champion award and finished 2nd in Class B at the Beretta USA Cup this weekend. :)

3/12/13 - Today I'm on my way to Dallas, Texas! I will be getting coached by Lanny Bassham! (a two time Olympic goal medalist) I will be attending his Mental Management Systems school & preparing myself for the mental part of my training for the road ahead of me! I am so excited and know that this mental coaching will take me to a whole other level to help me meet my goals. :)

I am very lucky to have my committee and community behind me! Thanks!!! ♥

1/26/13:  Annie got home late last Saturday. She was able to sleep in on Sunday and got a massage/treatment with a family friend for sore muscles (shooting 2,000 rounds) and got her truck inspected, then left in a blizzard for PA for more training.   Wednesday and Thursday she had to update her lifeguard certification.  Sunday Annie has a 30 mile Nordic Ski Race in Lake Placid.  She has one more swim meet in early February.

1/11/13: My first day on the range was amazing! I shot a 25 STRAIGHT ALL first barrels again! ...Country #2!! :)

1/1013: I made it to Spain safely today! The range here looks fantastic! I am so pumped to start training tmro!! We have our own private gym and get to stay right on the range sight! Thanks for all of your support! It really means a lot to me! :)
 

1/8/13:  Today is my last day training in PA ...headed to Spain tomorrow for a weeks worth of training before I go back to college!! :)

12/2012:  "I just finished my last fall semester at college last week. It was nice to be home for two days to visit with my family & friends, but now I'm back on the road again back to PA to train over Christmas break! I'm so excited to get back on the range again! :)...thanks for all your support! ♥"

11/2012:  Ann wow'd 'em at this summer's competitions!  Two Gold Medals, two Silver Medals and placed in the top 10 in each of the other competitions.  We are certain Ann will represent the United States of America very well in the 2016 Olympics!

October: Today was the last day of the Fall Selection Match and I ended on a good note! :) This was a great match and I learned sooo much from shooting in it along with talking with other Olympians & world class shooters! Thanks to everyone for all of your support & encouragement! It means a lot to me!! ...in two weekends I'll be shooting in a High Performance Camp Coached by Rodolfo "Rudy" Vigano' who is on the National Italian Team! :)

September has Ann heading to Montreal for a training weekend in order to train for next month's event. Ann will compete October 11-14 in the USA Shooting Fall Selection Match in Kerrville, Texas, which is the first leg in the U.S. Team selection process for the World Championships in Lima, Peru scheduled for September 2013.

Ann will also be one of only six athletes in the country to participate in a "High Performance Camp" at the Keystone Shooting Park facility on October 26-28. Rodolfo Vigano from the Italian National Team will be the featured coach at this event, where athletes will be immersed in the fine details to move their game to a higher level of performance on the world stage. This is the first time that a foreign coach has ever been contracted to perform such a benefit for U.S. athletes.

Aug. 30 - This past weekend I competed in the CANAM Cup & made the finals!!!! I shot the highest score & crushed everyone! lol I was also awarded to be the Ladies Champion! :)

July 8 - I JUST RAN MY LAST ROUND AT THE U.S. CHAMPIONSHIPS & SHOT 25/25 STRAIGHT FIRST BARRELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Ann Jardin is a young woman on a quest...a                 

quest  to become a member of the 2016 U. S.
Olympic Women's International Trap Shooting
Team.

She is the daughter of Ron and Rita Jardin of
Mexico, NY, where she graduated from Mexico
High School in 2009.  Jardin grew up loving the 
outdoors and enjoying sports such as swimming,
Nordic and alphine skiing, soccer, lacrosse, hunting
and campeting in biathlions.  Ann is working towards
a degree in fisheries & wildlife management at Paul
Smith's College of the Adirondacks and will grad-
uate in May 2013.

When Ann was twelve years old, she shot a bear
with precision.  She has always been athletic and
has a keen eye for trap shooting.Two summera ago,
Jardin was in Binghamton, NY for the Empire State
Invitational Competition when whe met Allen Chubb.
He was intrigued with Jardin's ability and asked what her future goal was.  She replied, "I want
to win a gold medal for Women's Olympic Trap Shooting at the 2016 Olympics."

 

Ann wil among a select group of young trap shooters concerned about the Olympics of 2016 and beyond as they take part in the Junior Olympic Development Camp, Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, at Keystone Shooting Park. The training is limited to a maximum of 18 shooters and is the result of a cooperative effort between USA Shooting and KSP, which is a "Certified Training Center" in Olympic shotgun sports by USA Shooting.  More Information.

Ann's 2016 Olympic Dream Committee sponsored the booth to promote Annie's journey.   There was a lot of interest and support from the attendees and other vendors.  It was exciting to see the interest shown by visitors.

Ann had a great weekend at the Perazzi Cup, at Keystone Shooting Park, with Corey Cogdell, the first American woman to ever win an Olympic Medal in this sport.   Ann took 1st for the Ladies Championship and finished 3rd for the 3 man team event.

Who is Annie's Coach?  

Mr. Allen Chubb is a former world class athlete and now a coach of renowned talent, dedication and passion for the sport. Mr. Chubb is the President of Chubb International Shooting Sports, Inc.(CISS), which recently opened a truly world class shooting range just north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and is well known for its high-tech capabilities.  For more information and photos go to the website: www.keystoneshootingpark.com.

Mr. Chubb has seen such potential in Ann’s talent that he has taken her on as his lone full-time student for the next (4) years so as to solely dedicate himself to helping Ann achieve Olympic glory.

Choach Chubb said, "Annis what every coach dreams of with her personality, drive, moral compass and family support.  Putting an entire community behind her is what she wants and needs to have a realistic shot at her goals.  What your community is doing for her is fantastic and could only pray that other athletes had such a community rally behind them.  The Mexico community, her parents and I are her team in this journey and we cannot fail her.  The Road to Rio starts here!!!"

CISS is recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501(C) (3) tax exempt corporation.  CISS has created a “Dedicated Athlete Support Fund for Ann Jardin” in order to receive financial support to cover specific training and competition costs.
